You know you're a grown up when . . .

You know you're a grown up when you spend almost all of your Christmas money on a pot.

Specifically, a gorgeous 9 quart Le Creuset French oven. :-)

Isn't it pretty?? And it's so big that it takes up almost two burners on the stove top. I can't wait to use it. I'm thinking I'm going to test it out with a big batch of chicken spaghetti. :-)

Fingerpaint

This morning the rain thwarted my grocery shopping plans, and the two little people didn't want to play with any of their toys, so I decided it would be a good time for Theodore to try fingerpaint!

It started off innocently enough, with minimal mess . . .

Then I gave them some pipe cleaners and medium size pom poms to make different designs on the paper. Still not too much of a mess . . .

But then Buttercup asked if they could drive some of Theodore's trucks in the paint. They each picked out a truck, and zoomed them around on the paper. And that's when it started getting really messy!

And . . . this was the end of it, when Theodore decided to taste some of the paint. Lots of fun! :-)

Theodore in the flowers

This morning Theodore and I went on a scouting expedition to look for more wildflowers.

I was specifically looking for Indian Paintbrush (shown below) but we only found a couple of them.

Theodore had a lot of fun running through the field!

He apparently remembered our bluebonnet photo shoot from last weekend, because he immediately sat down in the middle of the first patch he found and then yelled, "CHEESE!" at me. Ha ha ha!!!

He was listening to the train horn in the next two pictures. :-)

Looks like he's surfing! :-)

Bluebonnet pictures, 2013 edition :-)

Buttercup really wanted to bring her purple fairy wings so she could fly in the bluebonnets, and I'm really glad she did! Even though the pictures are blurry and her hair is in her face, these are two of my favorite pictures from the whole bunch. :-)
