- His favorite color is green.
- He can spell and write his own name, but only when it's his idea to do it. ;-)
- His favorite place in the whole world is Grammy and Granddaddy's house (specifically, their back yard).
- His favorite store is The Home Depot.
- Right now he wants to be a basketball-playing, bike-riding, front-loader-driving marine biologist when he grows up.
- Yesterday morning he finally figured out how to put on a shirt, and he dressed himself for the first time!

- He loves to eat strawberries, pasta, and peanut butter.
- He loves to dip his foods into other things, like hummus, ketchup, salad dressing, etc. He comes up with some pretty interesting food combinations. :-)
- He loves to help me cook. I always try to find some way for him to help me when I cook.
- He is really into sea creatures right now, specifically sharks. We've been watching some portions of the Discovery Channel's series Shark Week on our Roku player and Oliver watches the big sharks with his mouth open. "Mom, did you SEE that SHARK?!"
- He is reluctant to admit it, but he really loves his baby sister. He has overcome most of his jealousy and alternates between playing nicely with her and roughhousing with her. Fortunately, Buttercup is a willing playmate (for the most part). They are going to have so much fun growing up together! :-)
- He loves music and we often have "band time" where we all play instruments together.
- He can sing almost all of the first verse of "On the Jericho Road", complete with vibrato.
- He has outgrown some size 5T shirts and some 4T pants -- at 3 years old!
- He is almost always on the move. The boy never slows down!

- He has been happily going to Children's Chapel at church by himself for almost 4 months now. I thought he would have a really hard time adjusting, but he sits next to his friend Nathan, eats his snack, and does the lesson + craft time with the big kids! He is such a big boy.
- He can throw a ball across the yard and hit a ball with his bat on the first try. He's currently working on perfecting his catching skills.
- He loves to dance, make jokes and laugh. He has such a happy heart!
- He would probably eat a PB&J for lunch every day if I let him. :-)
- He is just a fun-loving, awesome little boy, and I am so thankful that I get to be his mommy!
Oliver and Buttercup played a cute game during lunch today. Buttercup dropped her fork, Oliver picked it up and fed her, Buttercup dropped her fork, Oliver picked it up and fed her, Buttercup dropped her fork, etc. The game lasted for so long that I was even able to get up and get the camera to take a video of it! Enjoy!
This afternoon, Oliver, Buttercup, and I were playing outside while Dennis cooked dinner. Oliver was piling leaves in a box, and while he worked, I spelled out his name with some leaves.
He asked me why I did that, and I said because I thought he would like it. Then I said, "Do you know why those leaves were there?" and Oliver said, "Because God put them there." I told him he was right, and then went on to tell him how God put those leaves there because He knew we were going to be playing there and that I could use the leaves to talk more about Him.
Oliver listened intently (!!) and I was also able to share some of Psalm 139 with him -- how God knows everything about us and He's always with us -- and also the verse in Matthew that tells us that God even knows the number of hairs on our heads. It's really cool to think about it, that our great and mighty God who created the ENTIRE UNIVERSE knows the exact number of hairs on our heads!
