Growing up

It's almost hard to believe that October is rapidly approaching, which means that both kids' birthdays are coming up. Oliver will be FOUR years old next month! That seems totally crazy to me. Where on earth has the time gone? It seems like he just turned 12 months old, and now he's in preschool and loving it, and also starting soccer practice (which he is not loving, but hopefully he'll come around to it).

And Miss Buttercup will turn two next month, which . . . well, seems just about right. She really does act like a tantruming two year old most of the time, ha ha! I have to say -- that while both of our kids' personalities are perfectly wonderful in their own way -- Oliver really did spoil us with his laid-back attitude and ability to quickly get over whatever is bothering him.

Not that Buttercup isn't sweet and loving, because she is. And when she smiles, her face just lights up and everyone around her lights up, too. But she won't take no for an answer if you stand between her and something she wants! She's the epitome of the little girl in this poem,

"There once was a little girl, who had a curl
right in the middle of her forehead.
And when she was good, she was very, very good.
And when she was bad, she was horrid."

Yep, that's Buttercup to a T. She is our feisty little firecracker. :-)
