So we went to PetsMart and adopted a beautiful, 6 year old, female cat. We chose her because she not only allowed me to hold her, but she was also very tolerant of Oliver and Buttercup crowding and petting her. What a sweetie! Oliver came up with several names for her -- Jonathan, White Cat, Doggie Dog, Kitty Kitty, Bob, Soft Cat, Furry Cat, and on the way home, he finally decided that he wanted to name her Wendy (as in Wendy, Bob the Builder's supervisor). So, Wendy it is.
When we got home, Wendy was a little nervous and immediately ran under the side table in the living room. Buttercup tried and tried (in vain) to cajole her out by hollering, "MEOW! MEOW!!!!!!!!!!" in increasing decibels.
Dennis and I were expecting Wendy to spend the first couple of days under the couch, but about an hour later, she came out and started wandering around! Buttercup finally got to pet her and love on her (with some assistance from Daddy).
Wendy made herself comfortable on the recliner while we ate lunch, then Oliver talked to her while I cleaned up and put Buttercup down for a nap.
Welcome to our home, sweet Wendy! We hope you'll be very comfortable here. :-)
